A Meaningful Eid Collaboration with Hands for Humanity and Partners

At CAKEUP, we believe that every celebration deserves something sweet, and every person deserves to feel included during special occasions.

On 30 May 2026, we had the privilege of supporting a meaningful Eid celebration held at Sandholm Asylum Center, Sandholmgårdsvej 40, 3450 Lillerød. The event was organized through a collaboration between Hands for Humanity, Ungdommens Røde Kors, DM-Aid, and Dansk Kurdisk Ungdomsforening (DKU), bringing together volunteers from different organizations with one shared goal: creating a joyful and welcoming Eid celebration for asylum seekers living at the center.

Many residents at the center are spending this important holiday far away from their families, friends, traditions, and homes. The organizers worked tirelessly to create a day filled with community, activities, laughter, and togetherness, ensuring that nobody felt forgotten during this special occasion.

CAKEUP was honored to contribute cakes to the event, serving approximately 30–40 guests. While our contribution may have been small compared to the incredible work carried out by the volunteers, we are proud to have played a part in helping create moments of happiness and celebration.

Receiving the photos and videos from the event was truly heartwarming. Seeing people come together, share smiles, and celebrate Eid as a community reminded us why supporting initiatives like this matters. Food has a unique way of bringing people together, and we are grateful that our cakes could be part of those shared moments.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Hands for Humanity, Ungdommens Røde Kors, DM-Aid, and DKU for allowing CAKEUP to be involved in this wonderful initiative. We also want to thank all the volunteers who dedicated their time and energy to making the event a success.

As a local Copenhagen business, we believe in supporting the communities around us whenever possible. Beyond cakes and desserts, we hope to contribute to moments that bring people together, create connections, and spread kindness.

Thank you to everyone involved for making this Eid celebration so special. We look forward to supporting more community initiatives in the future.
